Doing everything yourself is adding, working together is multiplying
Sterrehof Stud team
Ivo and Ellen have gathered a fine group of people around them that make things run smoothly at the Vreeweg in Nunspeet. First of all, there are Peter (pictured second to the left) and Jaap (second to the right). They do all kinds of work at the stables and on the grounds and are responsible for maintenance. The sport horses’ care is in the capable hands of Robyn (middle). They are all in tiptop shape thanks to her.
Patricia (left) is responsible for the young horses’ initial schooling. She lunges them and gets them used to the saddle. Last but not least there is Edward (right). This skilled young rider follows up on Patricia’s work and provides our showjumping talents with the right fundamental schooling.
For our talented horses to be able to make their way to the top, we work together closely with renowned showjumping riders, such as Michael Greeve. Our closest affiliates are Marc Houtzager and his Austrian partner Julia Kayser, who run their stable in the Dutch Rouveen. This cooperation has really added to the Sterrehof Stud’s achievements and vice versa.
Our mutual success began with the purchase of Opium, ten years ago. We took a leap of faith with this investment, and some felt we were crazy diving into this. But it has worked out brilliantly, resulting in a series of successes and a rise to international top-level showjumping. Other Sterrehof horses have followed in his footsteps ever since, ridden by either Marc or Julia.
