First foal by Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z in 2022

A year after Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z was made fully available for breeding, we expect a large number of offspring from him in 2022. But only one can be the first and this honour goes to the foal in the video below. This colt by Cayetano was bred out of the dam Dorissa G, herself by Vegas VDL and the internationally qualified jumping mare Zarissa G (by Pacific). Breeder is Mieke Zoetlief who provided us the videos.

Succesful offspring

Until this season, the past three years only smaller numbers of Cayetano’s offspring were born. Our top stallion was jumping in the sport with Julia and was mainly used in Sterrehof’s own breeding program. After his first two crops and the retirement of Cayetano we were convinced that he meets the expectations we have of him as a breeding stallion. These expectations were recently underlined by Cayetano’s son On My Mind who was selected for the stallion performance test at the KWPN stallion show.

About Cayetano

Cayetano (himself by Caretano Z) performed at several 1.60m Grands Prix and jumped successfully for many years under the saddle of Julia Houtzager-Kayser. This breeding stallion, approved by both the KWPN and Studbook Zangersheide, has also a genetically very interesting pedigree being the grandson of the legendary Ratina Z. Ratina’s daughter Calipa Z produced no fewer than eight international jumping horses. Four of them jumped at 1.60m level and the most successful one is Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z!
