Sterrehof’s Calimero selected for the European Championship

Together with his rider Marc Houtzager our Calimero has been selected for the European Championship from the 21^st till the 27^th of August in Gothenburg! The Dutch team, which also consists of Harrie Smolders (Don VHP Z), Jur Vrieling (VDL Glasgow vh Merelsnest) and Ruben Romp (Audi’s Teavanta II C Z), will defend the European title in Sweden. Besides Calimero we will also have another horse at the Europeans, as Sterrehof’s Cayetano has been selected for Austria.

During the ten year of the existence of our company it’s already the fourth big championship at which we will be represented by at least one of our horses. Sterrehof’s Opium was the first during his successful Olympic Games in Hong Kong, 2008. One year later he also performed with Marc at the European Championship in Windsor. Also Sterrehof’s Pherna was selected for this event, together with Julia Houtzager-Kayser for Austria. In 2012 it was Sterrehof’s Tamino who shined at the Olympic Games of 2012 in London. All these horses you can find in our Hall of Fame.

The selection of Sterrehof’s Calimero is extra special for us. We purchased him already at a very young age. He has been schooled and managed according to our vision and his selection for the EC is the icing on the cake for all the work done by our people and Marc. We hope that the event in Sweden will be a nice continuation of all the successes of Calimero in 2017, which consist of:
