Marc and Calimero with the Dutch team at their second championship in a row
At the Dutch National Equestrian Center in Ermelo the riders who will represent the Dutch team at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon have been announced. To be honest, we expected and hoped Marc and Sterrehof’s Calimero to be part of the team and they do! The fellow team mates of Marc are Harrie Smolders (Don VHP Z N.O.P. or Emerald), Frank Schuttert (Chianti’s Champion), Jur Vrieling (VDL Glasgow van het Merelsnest) and reserve rider Leopold van Asten (VDL Groep Beauty), and of course team chef Rob Ehrens.
The selection of Marc and Calimero is no big surprise really as they are in super shape all season! Nevertheless it’s always a nice moment when this is official.
The WEG will take place from September 10 till 23.
Top performances Great Blue
A different performance but also very meanful to us were the successes of Sterrehof’s Great Blue at CH De Wolden. This weekend he and Roy Weel continued to maintain their great form. The seven year old son of Plot Blue showed his ability once more in the two star-courses, resulting in a fantastic fifth position in the final two star class (1m35).
