Calimero and Marc Houtzager finish third at the Rolex Grand Prix of CHIO Aachen!
The string of successes from Marc and Sterrehof’s Calimero is getting more and more unbelievable. The reigning Dutch champions finished among others already on a third spot in the Grand Prix of Indoor Brabant and in the main class of the CHIO Rotterdam. This time they were even able to reach the same result in the most famous class we know in show jumping, the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen!
Recently Marc told that in his eyes Calimero is one of the best horses in Europe and maybe even in the world. These words were confirmed in Aachen, where a world class field filled the starting list. Only seven of them were able to overcome all the obstacles on the holy grass of the Soers in the first round. Among them our own Calimero and Marc who were again at their best in the second, very tough round.
Four combinations remained for the jump-off and it was Marc himself who opened the finale. He rode a clever round with the still only ten years old gelding and finished on a fantastic third place, which is the best Dutch result in this legendary class since the victory of Albert Zoer in 2008.
