We welcome a beautiful filly from the combination Balou du Reventon x Ushi
Last week, we could welcome the newest addition to the Stoeterij Sterrehof family: a long-lined and appealing filly! The dam of this genetically very interesting foal is our Sterrehof’s Ushi (picture above) and her sire is Balou du Reventon. The latter is the half-brother of top progenitor Balou du Rouet and also as a great sport stallion, who jumped to a second place in the Aachen Grand Prix and more recently achieved a top 10 placing in the World Cup final with young British rider Harry Charles.
Surrogate dam Centolina
The sire of Balou du Reventon is Cornet Obolensky which makes this filly closely related to the previously born filly of Ushi, who is by Vigo d’Arsouilles herself. Ushi competed successfully at 1.60m Grand Prix level with Julia Houtzager-Kayser and comes directly out of the very high rated dam line of Narcotique de Muze II, who is also Ushi’s granddam!
Also notable is the foal’s surrogate dam. This time Sterrehof’s Centolina fulfils this important role. This former international sport mare has been used for breeding several times and we know her as a fantastic dam that will give this filly a desired start.
