Chapeau and Cover Girl show themselves for the first time in a competition
In the past period, the very first offspring of our top stallion Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z have made their debut in the competition ring. Our rider Edward van den Bragt, responsible for their training, jumped some nice rounds at home ground in Nunspeet with Chapeau S Z (picture above) and Cover Girl. The four-year-old Chapeau is bred by us out of the 1.60m GP mare Sterrehof’s Ushi and his equally old half-sister Cover Girl is owned by Marc Houtzager and bred out of a mare by Montender.

The debut of these two comes three years after their sire’s sports retirement. Cayetano jumped for more than eight years successfully in international sport and many years at the highest level. This genetically interesting grandson of legendary Ratina Z was used for breeding for the first time a year before his retirement, and at that moment on a very modest scale. This resulted in a few offspring, of which we already know the appointed stallion On My Mind, and now see his first children set the tone for hopefully more to come.
Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z competed many years successfully under the saddle of Julia Houtzager-Kayser. The stallion, approved by both the KWPN and Zangersheide, also has a wonderful pedigree being the grandson of the legendary Ratina Z. Her direct daughter Calipa Z produced no less than eight international showjumpers, four of which are classified at 1.60m. The most successful one: Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z!
