Dante and Marc 2nd in Grand Prix and 5th in FEI World Cup La Coruña
Sterrehof’s Dante and Marc finished their great year in style during the FEI World Cup competition of La Coruña. Our successful duo was second in the Grand Prix on Saturday evening and clinched a beautiful fifth place in the World Cup class, 24 hours later. After her recent world cup debut in Verona it was the second fifth place in a row for Dante. In total the eleven-year-old mare by Canturano jumped twenty international shows in 2019. Sixteen time this resulted in a top 5 position, including nine times a top 3 finish.
Big leap forwards
The top classes in La Coruña had a different scenario. Only four competitors reached the jump-off of the Grand Prix. Marc rode a super last round, which turned out to be the fastest one. Unfortunately, it was with one jumping fault, but due to mistakes by others still a second place followed.
In the main class, Dante and Marc again made no mistake in the opening round, a result they shared with twelve other combinations. In the jump-off our duo were halfway on Maikel van der Vleuten’s time, but they were a bit slower at the end. The victory stayed in the Netherlands and for our duo thus remained a fifth place for the second time in a row. With twelve world cup points and 29 in total, Marc makes a big leap forward and is now sixth in the West European World Cup League standings.
Sterrehof’s Edinus also in great shape
Marc’s second trump card also impressed in the northern Spanish coastal city. Sterrehof’s Edinus jumped excellent on both Friday and Sunday. In the 1.55m class against the clock he managed to finish twelfth after a clear round and two days later there was a nice ninth place thanks to another clear round in the 1.50m class against the clock.
