Ushi’s offspring sought after at famous foal auctions

Sterrehof’s Ushi‘s offspring proved to be sought after this year. Three foals and an embryo of our top broodmare were selected for two of the most prestigious foal auctions and subsequently were successfully sold.

Our foal Comme Ci Comme Ca was the first one at the Flanders Foal & Embryo Auction during the CSI Moerzeke. This filly by Comme Il Faut changed hands for €28,000. Later on, an embryo at the same Flanders auction, but this time in Dublin, proved no less desirable. At this location the auction hammer fell at €23,000 for the combination Ushi and Balou du Reventon.

Zangersheide Quality Auction

The same combination was made before and born this year, named by us Bella Ushi S Z. The filly by Balou du Reventon was selected for the prestigious Zangersheide Quality Auction and bids went up to €32,000 for this beauty. The next day at the same auction, the price for an offspring of Ushi climaxed. The Chacco Blue embryo we sold last year turned out to be a striking filly and biddings stopped at the top price of €48,000. It was the second success for a foal that we had sold as an embryo the year before, as Tushi (by Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof), also a filly, managed to win the reserve title at the KWPN Foal Approvals of Friesland and therefore qualified for the KWPN Championships.

Track record in breeding

For us it’s very nice to see that Ushi, who has jumped successfully up to 1.60m GP with Julia Houtzager-Kayser, is making her mark more and more in breeding now. The daughter of world champion Vigo d’Arsouilles out of the direct, famous dam line of Narcotique de Muze II, previously produced at our stud farm Goliath S (1.45m-level) and Henna S, who in turn is the dam of the top talents, Kynan S (1.45m) and Mercurius S (1.30m international level and winner of the Sterrehof Trophy at Outdoor Gelderland), who we still own. Next to that we still have her young daughter Cerly S Z and her promising sons Orion S and Chapeau S Z who are being prepared for their jumping career.
